Terms of use
The plain-language terms for the Connecticut Eats app and this website. Last updated Oct 12, 2026.
What the app is
Connecticut Eats is a free guide to restaurants in Connecticut. It is provided as is, for personal use, without charge and without warranties of any kind.
Check before you go
Restaurants open, close, and change their hours and menus, and shacks and dairy bars close for the season. Dishes, seasons, and years at an address are what each place or a named source said when we checked in October 2026. We work to keep the lists right, but we can't promise that any listing is current or complete. Call the restaurant before you make the trip.
Health ratings
Connecticut has no statewide restaurant inspection results or grades, and Connecticut Eats doesn't grade restaurants. For the 10 towns of the Farmington Valley Health District (Avon, Barkhamsted, Canton, Colebrook, East Granby, Farmington, Granby, Hartland, New Hartford, and Simsbury), the app and the web search show the district's own official rating (A Excellent, B Good, C Fair, or U Unsatisfactory) with its date, as the district published it. A rating describes one inspection on that day. For the official record, see the Farmington Valley Health District.
Casino restaurants
Restaurants inside Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun are on Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribal land, and the app labels them that way.
Other people's content
Hours, photos and other details in each place card come from Apple Maps and are Apple's and its providers', under Apple's terms. Restaurant names and trademarks belong to their owners. James Beard Foundation and James Beard Award are trademarks of the James Beard Foundation; honors are reported as facts. Connecticut Eats is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the State of Connecticut, its Department of Consumer Protection or Department of Public Health, the City of Hartford, the Farmington Valley Health District, the Mashantucket Pequot or Mohegan tribes or their casinos, the University of Connecticut, the James Beard Foundation, Apple, or any restaurant or chain.
